Dishwasher Repair

Over the last few decades, dishwashers have become more common in household kitchens. Dishwashers clean dishes by spraying hot water. This water can reach up to 170 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius). Detergent is then mixed with the water via a pump and is blasted at the dishes. Finally, the dishes are rinsed with clean water and the water is drained. Dishwashers can break down over years of use, many problems owners face are dishwashers not draining, doors not latching properly, water leaking, and dishes not being adequately cleaned. Fast Appliance Repair offers superior repairs to all dishwashers. We are often available for same day consultations and will come to your home to assess your repair needs.

Common Dishwasher Problems

Door Latch: The door latch is what keeps the dishwasher door closed. It is attached to the dishwasher tub. If the latch is broken it will stop the dishwasher from running properly. Leaks can occur if the door is not closed tight enough due to a faulty latch.

Drain Hose: Drain hoses run underneath the dishwasher and are attached to the bottom of the dishwasher tub. If the hose becomes clogged or disconnected, it can prevent the tub from draining or cause leaks.

Spray Arms: The spray arms are the parts of the dishwasher that work to actively clean the dishes. Water pumps through the arms, mixing with detergent, to spray the dishes. Spray arms may become clogged over time, which can effect the cleanliness of dishes or create leaks.

Door Gasket: Also known as the dishwasher door seal or a tub gasket, door gaskets are the sealing that helps prevent water from seeping out of the dishwasher. They are located on the inside of the dishwasher tub. Over time, door gaskets can become brittle and no longer pliable. When this happens it is important to replace it.
